about KOUTAKU YOSHINAGA

Koutaku Yoshinaga, who has been active as an artist in recent years in parallel with a Children book writer and illustrator.
Starting with the Children book "KYUUSYHOKU BANCHO" that he released in 2007, in parallel with the announcement of more than 10 Children books, storytelling & live events at elementary schools nationwide, corporate illustrations, animations on TV, etc. He is engaged in various activities.

Furthermore, in recent years, he has also been active as an artist, and his works depicting the 'extremely serious inside and outside world of his spiritual sensibility' and the 'inside out of life' are called art space BAKU in Fukuoka and Kyushu new art in Hakata Hankyu. Presented at group exhibitions, etc.

This time, I would like to write a review in the form of delving into the artist side of Koutaku san. (The san after the name pays homage in Japanese)

Koutaku san is doing art work in the "studio basement" where 6 artists can use a shared place, apart from the workplace as a artist / Children book writer / illustrator.
Since I also rent a shared art work site, I sometimes come across the art work scenery of Koutaku san.
While painting, Koutaku san repeats the hard work of repeatedly drawing and destroying character that are life-threatening.
(Draw a motif, destroy it, draw it again, destroy it, and so on)
What's more, when I listened to his story, he tried to rot the character he paint in the picture and set it on a bonfire, as if he were making a stop-motion animation ...
A way of painting like him wouldn't be possible without the descriptive power to achieve 100% in his head.
Koutaku san says that he can continue to play (draw) for one picture for the rest of his life, and he has the sensibility and descriptive power to allow it.so when he sees the completed art work, all the characters on the screen It moves independently and makes you feel as if you are watching a destructive animation.
As for the depiction, he is not basically the way of painting as taught, but he easily pulls the shape on the matiere after destroying it with paint so as to be anxious and gives fine details.
Both depiction and sensibility exist in a unique position, but I think the great part of Koutaku san is extraordinary courage.
Once he started painting a picture, he spent all day and night doing the above work for three months without moving from the front of the picture.
Many of these are painting to shape the captured sensibilities beyond life-sustaining sensations such as drowsiness and appetite.
You may feel it.

Based on the above, if you look at the three new works drawn for the conflicting power grid this time, it seems that each one moves squishy, and it is a dense animation.
The distortion of the character's facial expression, the vivid facial expression that the smile cannot be seen as emotions, the cycle of birth and murder (destruction), the fusion of the landscape and the character.
All three works are easy to understand so that you can be aware of "cycle", but the movements like animation that loops endlessly, the characters and landscapes that are independent in detail, the work that exceeds all of emotions, etc., You can enjoy watching the artworks for a long time.

I thought that such Koutaku san could produce a good reaction if he met the artists of jogja who are doing art work while also valuing spirituality, but due to the influence of the 2020 coronavirus. we couldn't go to the indonesia.
However, I feel that the exhibition on the web site was able to produce a wonderful chemical reaction.
After the corona wreck, I would like to go beyond the website and have exciting exchanges with everyone.

Thank you for providing a terrific work!
I was paralyzed by free energy!
